‘Highbury fling’ features a special pair of nesting titipounamu / rifleman. This hand signed high quality pigment art print is based on an original gouache illustration by Melissa Boardman.

Titipounamu / rifleman are New Zealand’s smallest birds, they weigh only 6 grams and are delightfully round. Titipounamu form life-long bond with their mate and spend their days together searching for insects.

This illustration is inspired by a special titipounamu pair that left Zealandia Ecosanctuary together and made themselves at home in neighbouring Waimiapihi Reserve, Wellington. The pair are nesting on a track named Highbury fling and are currently busy raising their own little family.

This print is created with long-lasting matte pigment inks on textured, high quality archival 100% cotton rag. (Cotton rag is an environmentally responsible paper made from lint fibres - a by-product of the cotton industry).
