‘Double dotterel’ features a popular native shorebird, the NZ dotterel / tūturiwhatu. This hand signed high quality pigment art print is based on an original gouache illustration by Melissa Boardman.

NZ dotterels are relatively rare shorebirds, they are mostly seen in northern NZ, the Southern subspecies is extremely rare and only breeds on Stewart Island. They face many threats including human disturbance on the beaches where they live and attempt to nest. Despite not being overly common they are a much loved bird and dedicated volunteers work hard to protect their nesting areas over the breeding season.

This print is created with long-lasting matte pigment inks on textured, high quality archival 100% cotton rag. (Cotton rag is an environmentally responsible paper made from lint fibres - a by-product of the cotton industry).
