Eek it’s the new year! The end of last year went by in a flash and we’re already a week into 2020, crazy.
I want to say a big thank you for your support, if you have purchased anything from me, follow me on social media or have come along to a market or pop up that I was a part of, thank you times a million. I ended the year feeling very overwhelmed and happy with how many people supported me this Christmas season. I took a risk and didn’t do as many markets as I usually do, and instead focused on quality over quantity and for the most part it worked out.
I’m not closing my online shop over the holidays, and instead just sending orders out a couple of times a week, not constantly like I was last year! I did have a couple of days off, a day off for me is going birdwatching or spending a day in the garden. The back section of my home is very rugged and overgrown, and these last few days I’ve been tackling it, with the aim of planting lots of natives and turning it into a mini native forest. There are already tūī chicks out there, and yesterday a pair of kererū were hanging around, it’s pretty special.
Of course over the holiday season I’ll be spending as much time as I can at Zealandia Ecosanctuary, I always keep an eye on the weather and the less windy days are the ones that I love to go birdwatching. I thought I’d share some of my recent photos from the last week, there are a few pretty cute tītipounamu chicks and some of the other usuals suspects, but also a Shining Cuckoo, which was an unexpected bonus!
