South Island Trip Part 2 - Blumine Island
If you saw my first post about Blumine Island you’ll know it was a cold and wet day, as you can see by some of the photos. Luckily for us there were some birds hanging around where we were sheltering from the rain to keep us amused and for us attempt to take photos of, while also trying to keep our cameras dry! Some of the highlights were seeing a baby Weka, which was quite adorable. We don’t see Weka very often in Wellington, so seeing something large moving around on the forest floor is a bit odd! Also there were a few friendly Tomtits, and a Black Fantail hanging around, we don’t see them much at home so they were so nice to see. My photos aren’t the best but still fun to share, it was very dark and made photographing birds a challenge, but I think Hannah and I made the most of the day!
