Busy times
Oops it's been a month since I wrote a blog post, how did that happen? I've been spending all my spare time making calendars to get ahead of the christmas rush and also working on some new products which I'm pretty excited about. My calendars are officially for sale, horray! I'm pretty proud of myself for being so prepared, I wish I was this prepared last year! This year I photographed them on a patterned wall which I painted myself, I always try to use a creative but neutral background so my products look unique when viewed on Etsy. There's so much great design and products at the moment, it's hard to stand out!
I've also just printed a new range of black and white greeting cards featuring native birds, this is something I've been wanting to do for a while, as my original ones have run their course and it's time for some fresh new illustrations. I'm super happy with these cards, I had them offset printed using vegetable based inks onto my usual recycled paper.
I wanted to get these greeting cards all ready for my next craft market, which is next weekend in the lovely St James on Courtenay place, Wellington. This market is set to be a great event, lots of talented makers and I'm super excited to be doing a market again, only my 2nd of the entire year. I'm going to have a massive 2 table stall and taking a bunch of stock that I want to clear out to make way for new stuff, I've also been printing some new archival prints that I've had in the pipeline for ages too.
Oh and I'm still creating a pattern a day for the 100 Days Project - and am still finding it fun, although some days I struggle to find the time, I've realised that I have a treasure trove of inspiration in all the photos I've taken over the years. I have zillions of photos of birds that I have never used for anything so it's quite good putting these to good use. Here are 4 of my favourite patterns I've created in the past couple of weeks.... Until next time....
