New Projects For The New Year
I thought I'd write a quick post about the new and exciting things I've been working on this year so far. I had an amazing silly season, my calendars received so much attention online, it was really amazing and I was so lucky in many ways. I worked really hard on the calendars and that hard work definitely paid off, they sold out completely, so now I've got time on my hands to work on designing some new things!
I'm currently borrowing my sisters super fancy Canon 3D camera with an even fancier macro lens, so I can take photos of my feather collection. I've been collecting feathers for years, picking them up from the bird sanctuaries that I visit. I'm planning on making some Giclee prints of the photographs I have taken, this little project is coming along nicely, but I keep getting side tracked by my other new project - wrapping paper...
I've been experimenting with different mark making techniques to create some interesting abstract patterns for my wrapping paper - which I'm excited to say is being printed this week! Yay! I've created probably over a hundred different designs, but I've narrowed it down to three and I can't wait to see the end result.
As if all that isn't enough I'm also working on some new prints from the many patterns I've made. I'm loving abstract patterns at the moment and have been playing around with colour and am looking forward to seeing what I come up with, I've got a few ideas but I change my mind every few minutes so it'll probably end up completely different than I'm imagining.
I've also managed to find time to print some new designs of letterpress prints - something I've been meaning to do for a while now. I've just listed this Rad Robin print on Etsy, and there's more to come. I'm really eager to get all these new ideas to fruition, I just need a few more hours in each day...
